And so the journey begins...

Today is the first day of our new adventure.  House is on the market and Greg is on his way to San Antonio.  To say that God has had His hand on this adventure is a HUGE UNDERstatement.  God is good.  God has provided.  God has given peace.  And God continues to WOW! us daily in this.
It all started about a year and a half ago.  I felt a strong draw to the San Antonio area.  I honestly have no idea as to why.  We don't have family down there and neither of us have been there before.  But I do know that I would wake up thinking about it. Often.  So I brought it up to Greg and he pretty much laughed at me.  Seriously.  I just kept it in the back of my mind and prayed that God would help me see the bigger picture.
Last summer I had the awesome opportunity to attend a youth camp as a counselor.  That was such an incredible experience!  Watching the lives of the students change in big ways will forever impact me.  Another thing that became clear was that I needed to pursue this vision I had of going to San Antonio.  I brought it up to Greg again last summer.  He didn't totally laugh at me, but he didn't totally embrace it either.  It wasn't until last fall when his former job (A) was showing signs of trouble and lack of growth opportunities did he consider applying in different areas.  We love the warm weather, so naturally he was applying to jobs posted pretty much anywhere south of the Ohio River and in California.  While he did hear from several companies, the one that really opened up was in S.A.
He had a phone interview scheduled and that day a ridiculous snowstorm and his car became disabled on the side of the road.  Fantastic.  They graciously rescheduled the interview without any problems to the following week.  So, round two. By this time he had a new car.  He was safe.  The phone interview went well over an hour and a half...success!  They wanted to bring him down for an onsite interview.  It happened to fall during the same week as Kendall's Hope Benefit that I was coordinating.  While he was down there he met up with some college friends who were incredible hosts and showed him around S.A.  The next day was his all day interview.  It went exceptionally well.
When he got home he told me all about his trip and that as he was finished, they OFFERED HIM THE JOB!  We read over the offer letter together.  Greg knew he would have to put his negotiating hat on and get to work.  However, that had been put on hold as he helped me tirelessly with the benefit (which was a huge success!).  He negotiated and was at a point that he felt torn.  So he called our pastor.
Our pastor had told us to give it up to God and lay before Him the needs and to make it clear to us whether we should move forward.  We also listed our circumstances and weighed our options.  The very next day every concern and need was met.  And met clearly and brought PEACE!  We were ecstatic!
Greg accepted.  Ever since then God has continued to bring us PEACE and has PROVIDED!
I'm so happy that we listened to God's plan and we are following through.  I couldn't be more excited to see what He has in store for us there.  We are going to miss family and friends here.  NO doubt.  We believe this is an exciting new adventure for us and we love the BIG GOD that we serve!

God is good.
