There are roughly 25 days left before we take the big voyage south. Hard to believe! We all are so ready to be with Greg and start our lives in the Lone Star State! Since we are seriously just waiting for closing to happen and there is not much to update here, I've decided to feature people, places and things that have made living here so awesome and so hard to leave. I can guarantee you that you won't find ANYTHING in the weeks to come about snow, ice or frozen anything. :)
It's hard to decide just where to start. So, I'll go back to the very beginning of our lives here. The first thing I did, being that I had a 2 yo (Kaylen) and was pregnant (Ash), was look for a MOPS (mothers of preschoolers) group to join. I had been in MOPS since Kaylen was just a month old and I knew just how valuable it was to my sanity! I found a fantastic group of MOPS moms at Alpine Chapel and that led us to regularly attend Alpine as well. It was wonderful to see a room full of preschool moms eagerly wanting the same thing- an uninterrupted breakfast and adult conversation!!! Everyone was incredibly nice and welcoming. I eventually stepped into a role helping to organize the children's activities downstairs in the childcare area, then into leadership. It's amazing being part of the steering team for such a great ministry. To see these women give of their time so selflessly and want to serve other moms- it's humbling!
This MOPS group has prayed with us, cried with us, hugged us, mentored us, brought us meals, gave us many life long friendships and so much more! I'll be talking more specifically about some individuals as the month goes on. So thankful MOPS!
